The Rugged Series covers the applications where door longevity and mechanical reliability are the primary requirement — high-traffic walk-ins, beer cave auto-door systems, back-of-house prep coolers, freezer rooms, and pass-through openings. Both models are fully reversible. Neither is designed as a primary merchandising surface, though the 101 is deployed in front-of-house walk-in applications where its glass configuration is sufficient for the environment.

401 — cooler and beer cave, lowest energy in the lineup

The 401 is rated for normal temperature cooler environments and carries Anthony’s optional heavy-duty beer cave auto-door configuration, making it the standard specification for beer cave installations in convenience stores, grocery retailers, and liquor retail environments. It is not rated for freezer use in its base configuration.

The 401 runs at 3.30 kWh/day — the lowest energy consumption figure in Anthony’s full door lineup — and provides 55% RH protection at 75°F ambient. The Trimline handle is standard. The door is fully reversible and available in both 2- and 3-pane glass configurations. It does not support French swing or a pass-through configuration.

101 — cooler and freezer, pass-thru and French swing capable

The 101 is the Rugged Series’ most versatile model. It covers both normal temperature cooler and low-temperature freezer environments down to −10°F, making it the practical specification when a single reversible door needs to serve across zones, or when a freezer walk-in needs a heavy-duty door that won’t be specified for a merchandising environment.

Pass-through configurations are available, and French swing without mullion is optional — making the 101 the correct specification for back-of-house pass-throughs where product moves regularly between a cooler and a staging area. The Slimline handle is standard; full-length handles are available as an option. Like the 401, the 101 is available in both 2- and 3-pane glass configurations.

At 3.20 kWh/day in normal temperature environments, the 101 matches the Infinity 90 on energy efficiency despite operating in a more demanding duty cycle. In low-temperature freezer use, consumption rises to 10.01 kWh/day — consistent with comparable freezer-rated doors across the Anthony range.
